A Little About Us
1987: The Beginning Our journey started back in 1987 when we purchased our first laundrette in Ely called Launderama. It required total refurbishment with new washing machines, dryers, and décor. We were pioneers—one of the very first laundrettes to be fully staffed with a Dry Cleaning Agency.
With the success of our Ely venture, we opened our second location on Holton Road in Barry. Our mother joined the business, bringing her friendly and helpful character to the shop—always happy to share a gossip with our customers.
1989: The Drift-In Era In 1989, we purchased a closed laundrette on Salisbury Road. The name Drift-In was originally a play on words for the soap powder Dreft. We've kept that name for over 30 years, diversifying with trends like our HubBox click-and-collect parcel system.

My Beautiful Laundrette
During the early nineties, we provided students at the Arts & Drama college with material and props for their production of “My Beautiful Launderette.” Practising lines or singing at the local launderette was a common sight back then!

Nice and clean laundry, wide assortment of detergents very welcome owners.
Absolutely outstanding service. Dropped in two king size duvet covers full of washing. Whole lot was washed, dried and folded. The gentleman behind the counter even helped carry out the lot to the car. Highly recommend their services. Very good prices too.
Got my white puffer coat cleaned and it was covered with ink stains. They managed to get it all out perfect!! Very reasonable price!

My son and I are more or less homebound so Drift-in Launderette is indispensable to us – welcoming, warm and so helpful. They can pick up your dirty washing and return it washed and clean - ironed as well if you wish! Friendly, speedy, efficient and inexpensive. Students love it but so do 94 year old's like me.
